Frequently asked questions
Indonesia offers two main types of visa for tourists:
Tourist visa (ex B-211A Tourisme) This visa authorises a stay of up to 60 days for activities such as visiting family or friends, attending meetings, conventions, incentives or exhibitions. It cannot be extended or converted to another type of visa, and requires more documents than the visa on arrival.
Visa on arrival (B-213 or e-VOA) Valid initially for 30 days, this visa can be extended once for a further 30 days. It is suitable for tourism, business, transit, the purchase of goods, government visits, and attendance at conferences or exhibitions. It does not allow you to work or study in Indonesia.
To visit Indonesia, it is essential to obtain at least a 30-day e-visa.
Some nationalities are exempt from visa requirements for stays of less than 30 days: Brunei, Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam.
Documents required include a valid passport (valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Indonesia), a recent passport photo, proof of sufficient funds (at least 2000$ over the last 3 months) for the 60-day visa, and a return air ticket for the 30-day visa.
Indonesian visas are valid for between 30 and 60 days, depending on the type of visa. The 30-day visa can be extended in Indonesia by applying to the local immigration authorities.
The cost of obtaining an e-visa varies according to the type of visa. Using our e-visa service, costs range from €76 to €116, including consular fees and service charges.
Lead times are 48-72 hours for 30-day E-visa and 8 working days for 60-day E-visa. Processing times start as soon as the application is complete.
